Interview with a Dexon Training Center Student: Good Instructors in a Beautiful Country

We sat down with a Mongolian student to discuss his recent advanced rescue training course from the Global Wind Organization (GWO).

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆? 
 
I started in 2016. I first worked on Salkhit Wind Farm, Mongolia’s first wind farm that opened in 2013, and worked for General Electric (GE) from 2019-2024. 
 
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱? 
 
My company allows us to upgrade our skills, allowing me to to train in countries in Europe and Asia, such as Turkey and China. I always try to train in a different country. 
 
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗮? 
 
Mongolia is developing county and renewable energy is a new sector. All GWO training centers are overseas. 
 
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘅𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁? 
 
I’m very impressed by the instructors. They are very good, and the training is hands-on. At a lot of the places, you sit in a classroom looking at slides, reading through brochures, and watching demos. 
 
Here, I have a lot more time to practice. I spend a lot of time outside training what we’re going to do. I like to learn this way. 
 
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗧𝗖? 
 
Thailand. First, the weather. It is difficult to train outside in the cold. It’s freezing cold at home, and I wanted some place warm. I love the food, the weather, and the friendly people. 
 
Also, the price is comparable to other places. I’m quite happy with choosing DTC. 
 
𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹? 
 
Just a half day! I will go to Pattaya and then go to Bangkok in the evening, since my flight is in the morning. I wish I had more time to travel, but I have to go back to work. I only get a few days off for my training. 
 
𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲? 
 
Definitely. I enjoyed my time here. The trainers were nice and helpful. The classes gave us a lot of hands-on time. Being in Thailand was a big plus—friendly people and weather that’s not -25°C.
