Dexon Mechanical Solutions (DMS) has raised the bar in offshore platform maintenance with the successful repair of a flare and tripod platform for a leading energy company.
This milestone project made DMS the first contractor to perform rope access hot work welding in the area—a major step forward in safety and innovation for offshore operations.
🔸Two Phases, One Execution
Phase One: Onshore Preparation (30 Days)
At the DMS Yard, our engineering team kicked off the project by developing specialized technical documentation—engineering designs, welding procedure specifications (WPS), welding procedure qualification tests (WPQT), and the design and testing of custom equipment. The team also mapped out optimized workflows to safely integrate rope access with hot work welding.
Phase Two: Offshore Execution (12 Days)
Our offshore experts carried out structural welding and coating repairs on-site. All work was completed under IRATA standards, followed by close visual inspection and ultrasonic testing to ensure quality and compliance.
🔸Project Accomplishments
This recent project highlights the company’s ability to:
✅ Collaborate with experienced engineers
✅ Execute complex repairs by IRATA and NDT technicians in challenging conditions
✅️ Uphold international standards and customer requirements
The client commended DMS for this breakthrough, stating:
"DMS is the first contractor to successfully carry out rope access hot work welding in the area."
🔸Looking Ahead
DMS is proud of our ability to tackle the tough jobs—offshore, onshore, and everywhere in between. We’re excited for future opportunities to deliver high-quality work that keeps energy infrastructure safe and long-lasting.
