ATEX/IECEx Compliance Coordinator/Specialist

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Certification in ATEX/IECEx standards is highly desirable.
Open to both Thai locals & Expats

Experience:

Proven experience (3+ years) in ATEX certification or hazardous area equipment design.
Familiarity with IEC 60079 series standards and hazardous area classification.
In-depth knowledge of protection methods (e.g., Ex-d, Ex-e, Ex-i).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in preparing certification documentation.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with certification bodies and internal teams.
Experience with pipeline inspection tools or related equipment. (will be considered an advantage)
Knowledge of safety-related standards like IEC 61508 (functional safety).
Familiarity with anti-static materials and testing.

Your job

What you do

Assist in or lead the process of obtaining ATEX (2014/34/EU) and IECEx certifications for equipment.
Coordinate with Notified Bodies and certification agencies to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Support the preparation and submission of certification applications.
Conduct Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) and identify equipment requirements for Zones 0, 1, and 2.
Ensure designs comply with applicable protection methods (e.g., Ex-d, Ex-i, Ex-e, Ex-m).
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement ATEX/IECEx standards in equipment design.
Review designs for compliance with IEC 60079 series and related standards.
Recommend modifications to meet compliance requirements.
Prepare and maintain Technical Construction Files (TCF), including risk assessments, drawings, and certification reports.
Draft and manage Declarations of Conformity (DoC) for certified equipment.
Maintain organized records of all ATEX/IECEx compliance documents.
Coordinate or perform testing to validate compliance with ATEX/IECEx standards (e.g., intrinsic safety, flameproof testing).
Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions for non-conformities.
Stay updated on changes in ATEX, IECEx, and related regulations.
Advise stakeholders on the impact of regulatory updates.
Act as a liaison between engineering, quality, and external certification bodies.
Provide updates to management on the progress of certification activities.

Manage recertification activities when required (e.g., after design updates).
Provide technical support to customers regarding ATEX/IECEx compliance.
Assist the sales team in responding to customer queries about certifications and equipment suitability for hazardous zones.
Support certification for other international standards, such as UL (North America) or CSA (Canada), if applicable.
Coordinate global hazardous area compliance efforts for cross-border projects.
Identify opportunities for improving internal compliance processes.
Propose and implement process improvements to streamline certification workflows.
